Your ship is designed to provide the highest possible level of comfort. However, please be aware that you will encounter stairs, as well as narrow doors and passageways on board. Embarkation via the often narrow gangways is also not always level. As a general rule, none of our river cruise ships are fully accessible. Guests who require special assistance must travel with a companion. While our crew is always happy to assist, please note that our staff are not trained caregivers and are not permitted to provide nursing or personal care services. For their own safety, guests who are permanently dependent on a wheelchair or walker may only travel if accompanied by an adult companion who is not physically or mentally impaired and who can provide assistance both in everyday situations and in the event of an emergency. This companion must share the same cabin. For safety reasons and to allow us to assess the requirements appropriately, please inform us of any special needs, reduced mobility, or other physical impairments before booking.

The offers for the contractual travel services contained in this brochure are based on the information available at the time of printing in May 2026. Please understand that, for legitimate reasons, changes may become necessary before we receive your booking request, and we therefore expressly reserve the right to make such changes. Naturally, you will be informed of any such changes before the travel contract is concluded.The prices stated in this brochure also reflect the status at the time of printing and are binding for us as the tour operator. However, we expressly reserve the right to adjust the travel price before the contract is concluded. Should this occur, we will, of course, inform you before you make your booking:

  • An adjustment of the price stated in the brochure is permissible in the event of an increase in transportation costs (particularly fuel costs), charges for certain services such as port, airport, or entry fees, aviation security charges, air transport taxes or VAT, so-called “bed taxes,” or changes in exchange rates applicable to the respective trip after publication of the brochure.
  • A price adjustment is also permissible if the package holiday requested by the customer and offered in the brochure is only available after publication of the brochure through the purchase of additional tourism services or allotments. For price changes after the conclusion of the travel contract, the provisions regarding price increases and price reductions set out in our Terms and Conditions of Travel shall apply, where validly agreed. We expressly draw your attention to these provisions.

River cruises are subject to the forces of nature. For example, heavy rainfall or prolonged periods of drought may adversely affect water levels at short notice. High or low water levels, certain weather conditions, or delays caused by lock passages and bridge transits may make changes to the itinerary necessary. Strikes may also result in modifications to the route and included services. In exceptional cases, we may arrange alternative transportation for river sections that are not navigable, or provide hotel accommodation for the affected travel days. As a result, certain parts of the planned program may not be available. nicko cruises also reserves the right to alter the order of ports of call where necessary.

The traveller may withdraw from the package travel contract at any time before the start of the trip. The withdrawal must be declared to nicko cruises; if the trip was booked through a travel agent, the withdrawal may also be declared to the agent. Travellers are recommended to submit their withdrawal in text form.

If the traveller withdraws before the start of the trip or does not commence the trip, nicko cruises shall lose its entitlement to the travel price. Instead, nicko cruises may claim reasonable compensation, provided that the withdrawal is not attributable to nicko cruises.

The compensation will be calculated according to the date on which the notice of withdrawal is received, based on the following cancellation scale:

  • Up to 120 days before departure: 10%
  • 119 to 60 days before departure: 20%
  • 59 to 30 days before departure: 40%
  • 29 to 15 days before departure: 60%
  • 14 to 1 day before departure: 80%
  • On the day of departure or in the event of a no-show: 90%

The traveller has no entitlement, after conclusion of the contract, to request changes regarding the travel date, destination, place of departure, accommodation, meal plan, mode of transport, or other travel services (rebooking). This does not apply if the rebooking is necessary because nicko cruises failed to provide the traveller with pre-contractual information, or provided insufficient or incorrect information.

At the traveller’s request, nicko cruises may examine possible rebooking options. If nicko cruises agrees to a rebooking, it may charge a rebooking fee per traveller affected by the change, provided the deadline stated below is observed. Unless otherwise agreed in an individual case before confirmation of the rebooking, the rebooking fee amounts to €200 per person up to 150 days before departure. Any additional travel costs resulting from the rebooking must be paid by the traveller in addition to this fee.
