Patrick Fürst

Onboard Catering on Our Ships in the Wachau Valley

One of the country’s most dynamic chefs has big plans, and they are being brought to life on board the DDSG ships MS Dürnstein, MS Wachau and MS Austria.

After completing his apprenticeship in the Wachau Valley, Patrick Fürst can already look back on an impressive career in award-winning and fine dining gastronomy. He began his culinary career in Unterloiben in the late 1990s before his professional journey took him to New York, Germany, Spain and Monaco, eventually returning to the Krems region. Back home, he worked as head chef in renowned restaurants as well as at LATE ideenreich.

On board the DDSG ships, he is setting new standards with a modern, light and seasonal culinary concept. Alongside classics such as schnitzel made from regional Ötscherblick pork, traditional Austrian cuisine is combined with international influences to create memorable dining experiences for guests. Incidentally, all pastries and desserts are homemade, as are the sorbets and iced tea.

A culinary experience complemented by carefully selected Austrian wines, excellent service and the unique scenery of the Wachau UNESCO World Heritage landscape.
